I puppeted Sparta until I got my happiness back up and then annexed it. The great thing about taking a city in a peace treaty is the city stays intact (sacked cities lose half their population and some buildings) and there’s no diplomatic warmonger penalty. I got his second biggest city, Sparta, from it. Nevertheless, it’d be a lot of work so I asked about peace. It may have taken a while but I would’ve eventually taken a city. Still, I was able to produce replacements. I didn’t build enough melee so he’d have horses come from nowhere and decimate my archers. With my forces in good shape I pushed on a counter-invasion. They were sending mounted units against Pikemen, their weakness. Once again I repelled their advance with relative ease. Their military was in pieces after the first war but they built it back up. That was nice as I had low happiness at the time. I asked about peace and not only got it but they gave me all their luxury resources. And I was done warring by the time I got one. Gets +1 Sight, +1 Move, and an extra bonus when flanking. But why do Coffee Houses boost Production? I guess because people drink a bunch of coffee and pull all-nighters? Still, I built these in every city for a Production boost. Provides the city a 5% Production bonus instead of the Windmill’s 10% only to Buildings. Unique Building (Coffee House) – Replaces the Windmill. Then by the time I had money I was getting some nice bonuses from my CS allies and figured I was at a nice spot with my cities. I might have used it in the early and mid game but I had no money. Unique Ability (Diplomatic Marriage) – If you have been allies with a City-State for at least 5 turns you can pay money and annex the CS. I set myself to random and ended up with… With a couple multiplayer Civ5 games going and reading some interesting stuff on the game I was getting to a Civ5 high.
